"Not quite worth the price" 2009-12-18

The sound is good but occasionally distorted. I think it comes down to your tolerance for bad sound, keeping in mind that the sound quality will be with you long after the savings has worn off. (It has outstanding sound for a $6 speaker and that doesn't mean it's particularly pleasant to listen to.)

If you plan on traveling with portable speakers and want to minimize bulk, keep the cost reasonable, and have a somewhat better listening experience consider this: iLuv iSP100BLK Mini Portable Speaker for MP3 Players and iPod (Black). It's more compact, more durable, and has considerably better sound.

To put it in perspective, I'm on a business trip and was given one of these as a "thank you" for filling out a survey. I've decided it's worth tossing it in my suitcase for the trip home... but just barely. However, the next time I travel and want to take along a portable speaker it won't be this one.

What can you expect for a measly $7.00? Not much and that's really all you with these.

What they don't tell you is that this is not a proper dock as the pictures lead you to believe. Instead it has a cord coming out of the back that you're supposed to plug into your player's headphone jack. For the Zune HD this means you have to put the player in upside down since it's headphone jack is on the bottom. OK, not what I was hoping for but it'll work.

The one I got the right hand speaker didn't work and at $7.00 it'd cost almost as much to return them as they are worth! So into the electronic junk pile to await proper disposal.

My recommendation? Spend a little more and get something that works.

I ordered this for my Zune 120 and when I plugged my fully-charged Zune into the car it immediately shut off. I wasn't able to start it back up, and it wasn't until I plugged it into the computer that I discovered it was totally dead! Don't ask me how, but somehow the thing just zapped all of the power out of it! I thought maybe I'd done something wrong so I charged it back up and tried again, this time it shut it off again but I was able to turn it on enough to see that the battery was almost dead. What the heck?! I just bought another brand charger (from Bargaincell) and that works fine...

First off - get two or three. You will screw up putting in on. The major problem is shipping is charged for each one - ouch! (the shipping per 0.02 cents item knocked down the rating).

The project covers most of the screen - there is a noticeable edge that is not covered.

It's easy to get off, and hard to get on.

So far it kept my screen scratch free.

My best advice: First see which part of the guard and cover is the actual guard. Then remove cover from underneath, so dust doesn't fall on top of the sticky side. (Dust can't stick if the sticky side is on the bottom.) The chances of placing the guard perfectly without dust and bubbles decrease every time you take it off. I used lens cleaner to remove dust from the sticky side, and it actually looks better now that the first time I put it on the Zune. Yes, this is only for Zune 30 GB. It works, though. Crystal clear. You'd never know there was a guard on the screen. I had two large scratches on the screen, not deep, but noticeable. This guard hides them pretty well.

I love this thing! and look at the price! order a bunch if you can! tell your friends! :D I sorta inherited my 30 gig zune w/ a couple of minor scratches on the screen, and honestly, *with* the protector on it looks & feels even better! Just make sure you apply it correctly - no air bubbles or overlooked dirt/oil... I just got a clear silicone case separately, and the 2 together is almost perfection

I purchased this protective cover to prevent scratches to the screen of my ZUNE. The new Zunes will have glass screens. This product is hard and extremely easy to apply. Some covers are soft and leave air bubbles as well as trap dirt. Not this one. Had it on now for about 2 months and think it is great. If it does get scratches simply replace it. At this price might as well purchase 2 and have a spare.

i bought the case and at first the looks kept me happy but after a few days i began to hate it. to see the screen flipping up the headphone blocks it and will drive you nuts every time u look at it. also because of it a keep it open and just pick it up but the zune slides right in and out nothing gripping it or holding it in and ive already dropped it by picking up the case and having the zune slide right out onto the floor.

Great product. Does exactly what it's supposed to. Covers every inch of my red Zune 80. I dropped it once and it protected it, didn't even scratch the leather! I haven't removed it from the case since I've gotten it because I never needed to, the headphone jack and the charging port are open for easy access. It did have a strong leather smell when I first received it but after a couple days it went away. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I recently purchase an Incipio Z-109 "tan leather flip case" for my Zune. The ad on the website specifically states: "... premium supple leather on the outside..." I was shocked when I received the item and it is NOT leather. There are three main tests you can perform to see if something is leather or not. 1. smell. If it smells like plastic, it's plastic. This thing smells like plastic. Leather has a distinct musty smell to it. 2. scratching. If you use your fingernail and gently scratch smooth leather, it will scratch. Try it on a pair of shoes or a handbag. This Incipio case does not scratch. 3. the underside of leather (the raw side) is a distinct texture. Find a pair of unlined leather shoes and you will see what I'm talking about. This Incipio case does not have that. It has a distinct plastic look to the underside (you'll have to look between the stitching and the elastic on the side of the case to see the underside of what Incipio calls leather. To Incipio's credit, the interior lining IS : "micro-suede" (i.e., fake suede).

This thing is a piece of man-made leather-look material, and it is fraud to call it anything different.

I bought these for my friend for her ipod becuz my cousins broke her original ones, and they are wonderful. She has not had any complaints. The sound quality is just as great as the originals, and it comes with 3 pairs of ear buds and I love those becuz they actually stay in ya ear. When one pair gets worn out, you have three other pair to go to. I would definitely buy this item again as a gift or just for another set of headphones to have around just in case.

So far this case is great. Fits perfect, magnetic closure is clever, nice black leather and diamond texture on the rest (mine is blue). It's well made.

Note: With this case the headphone jack is exposed but after that you will have to remove it to do anything.

So far so good but it better not bleed all over my Zune (read the "Ruined" review). That would really..... Wayne - any warning signs? Thanks.

I recently purchased two of these cases. One black and one blue. The fit was perfect, however, the internal black lining has ruined my Zune HD Platinum face... Seems the dye comes off and has absorbed onto the Zune. Can't get it off...so my Zune Frame now has black dye marks all over it... I'm already purchased a Incipio silicon case to cover it up...

If you decided to buy one of these make sure you have a black Zune. Maybe then the dying won't show up.

Of course, using the Zune while it is in the case, despite the cut-outs for buttons, is frustrating since you have to take it out every time you want to change the music etc.

A very attractive case...that just doesn't work.

"Some Things to Consider Before Buying These..." 2009-10-09

My friend let me try his. Flimsy quality - feels like the plastic will break if you open them too fast. Like many other folks, they also arrived with a dead battery that would NOT hold a charge. There are also too many cables/cords hanging down when hooking these things up to a portable DVD player, which make these quite heavy to wear and started hurting the bridge of my nose after only a few minutes.

Something else people should know - For some reason, Myvu has opted to make these with a rechargeable battery that is NON-REPLACEABLE. It took 2 emails and a phone call to Myvu to FINALLY get them to confess to this. The ENTIRE PENDANT/BATTERY PACK must be replaced ($100 + S&H), is ONLY avalable thru Myvu and is currently UNAVAILABLE as of this writing. I was told that, under the best of circumstances, the rechargeable battery will last 3-4 years. Well, according to all the reviews I'm reading on Amazon this is simply NOT the case. Since the previous "Crystal" model and the new "Crystal EV" model both use the same pendant/battery pack, one assumes Myvu rotates their stock, so these viewers are shipping with the oldest stock of pendants FIRST with a rechargeable battery life of "ZERO" to "???". Yours might arrive with a TOTALLY DEAD battery that won't hold a charge, might charge for a few months, a year, 2 years...? Can you say MORE MONEY? Looks like Myvu will be making lots of money in future revenues for replacement parts. Smart marketing!

A personal viewer that will cost $400 (+ tax, + S&H) over the next year or so when just the battery needs replaced?

I'LL PASS.

excellent case, but minor short comings prevents it from being a perfect case.

Pros:

looks sturdy, thick plastic

kick stand

excellent fit (i had a cheap ebay case which was very very tight fit, i could not take my zune out without prying it with something)

includes screen protector (its a plastic film)

Cons:

the designs for the ports were not well thought out, i can only use some headphones because the plastic is too thick, and not wide enough to accommodate wider headphone jacks. shouldnt be a problem for most people though. the buttons are a bit hard to press since the top plastic is so thick, most noticebly the downward button.

over all, excellent product, just wished the design for access buttons and headphone jack were better, they are a bit of a hassle, but nothing to fret over.

"I Spent $24 on What Again?" 2007-06-18

I got this for a return flight home because, on the first flight, I was having a hard time positioning the Zune so that I could watch a movie. I was desperate to find a case with a stand that I could use, that wasn't ugly and that didn't cover up the appearance of the Zune (I like the black with the blue finish... Why would I want to cover it with a case?). This product was all I could find at Best Buy and, in spite of it being more expensive than I would have wanted, I just bought it. Now I look at the thing, and I wonder what the heck I actually spent $24 on.

The shell is light, but thick, and reaching some of the buttons on the Zune while it's in the shell is tricky. The top "hold" button, for example, is really hard to get at, as is the play/pause button. The shell does fit the Zune almost perfectly when the shell is securly closed. The Zune is secure and doesn't rattle back and forth in the case. The kickstand works well and angles the Zune at a good position so that you can see the screen without it falling over, when it's used on a level surface. I found that kickstand to be perfect for using on a plane.

But the problems with this case are many. First off, the thing is billed as "scratch resistant." That's entirely untrue. I've had mine for about a month, and it looks like I've played hockey with it. There are many, many, many scratches all over the case. It is amazing to me that I have the Zune since December with no scratches on the body whatsoever, but then I get this shell and it is heavily scratched with usage that the Zune itself withstood without a single ding or nick. The only thing that I've seen scratch this fast and this easily is an Ipod. :) This shell also, inexplicably, does *not* cover the screen, so you'll need to buy a separate screen protector for the Zune. Not a big deal for me since I already had a screen cover, but I'd think that an item billed as a protective shell would protect arguably the most important part of the Zune. EDIT: I did come across a plastic, static-adhesive plastic screen cover that is presumably supposed to be applied to the screen. However, it is very thin and not at all like the high-quality screen cover that's already on my Zune (see my reviews for info on that screen cover). It's very... Cheap, and I don't think it'd stay in place for long.

The biggest problem of this case has to be the reliability of the case itself. The case works by having the front plate snap off the bottom half of the shell, the bottom half of the shell accommodating the whole Zune and the top plate merely covering the front of the Zune. The plate is secured by one push tab at the top of the shell, two hook hinges on the bottom of the Zune, and two tabs by the kickstand (and no tabs or anything to secure it on the right side of the case). Opening the case the first time to get the Zune in was difficult, but after that, it's almost impossible to keep the case on, especially when you're using the kickstand (as the two tabs by the kickstand that hold the front plate to the rest of the shell are also used to keep the kickstand in place... When the kickstand is open, only the one tab on the top of the unit and the two hook hinges on the bottom keep it on). While in the kickstand position, the front plate is not secure, and falls off very easily. In fact, with the kickstand open, if I hold the Zune face down, it falls out of the shell. If you leave the kickstand closed, the Zune is secure in the case, but if the kickstand is open... However, the newest problem with this case is now that I use the kickstand frequently, the tabs no longer secure it closed and the kickstand will just fall open, causing the faceplate to become loose, allowing the Zune to fall out...

Oh, and since the kickstand is not a separate piece of plastic, but actually the middle third of the back shell, if you have the kickstand open, the back middle third of the Zune is exposed and not protected by the shell. This shell also has no belt clip, or any means to attach it to a belt or arm strap, which actually is probably good considering how easily the thing falls out.

I really only use this case if I'm in the car, or if I am going to watch a movie and need the kickstand. Other than that, the case is really worthless. It doesn't hold the Zune in the case, it's not scratchproof, it doesn't cover the screen... Basically, this is a $24 clear kickstand that offers good protection of the part of your Zune that doesn't need the most protection. Not worth the money at all. I give it two stars only because of the moderately functional kickstand, but I do not suggest buying this product.

I got this through the Amazon seller [...] and it was perfect. Although it was labeled for use with 4GB/8GB Zunes, it understandably worked perfectly for my 16GB Zune which is the same form factor.

It's a great, inexpensive product - less expensive than other screen protectors I've seen. Best of all, it's truly as clear as glass. There's absolutely no haze or distortion at all. Seriously one of the clearest screen protectors I've ever seen.

The useful printed instructions shipped with the product by SFplanet, a link to their web site for instructions and a step-by-step video to apply the screen protector gave me even more confidence in this purchase.

"Decent sound, stay in little ear canals!" 2009-12-21

I hate cords on headphones but, after trying really hard to like my stereo Bluetooth, I went back to these. The Bluetooth required large amounts of pressure to set into my little ear canals (even with the small tips), and kept falling out. Other corded earbuds and earphones always fall out. These just kind of sit in the right place and, as a result, the sound runs circles around the alternatives. To top if off, these let your ears breathe (little), and don't jam the wax in (I have seen many people with ear infections wax impactions due to earbuds). I am pleased! Only thing that came close to these was a white behind-the-head earbud unit that I can't find at the moment...

The sound is great (very clear, the bassline is natural), noise reduction is perfect, very comfortable. I tried a few brands but this one is the best so far for the price! I used them for every day and running\exercising (they don't fall out). Why the 3* you ask? Well, today my SECOND pair is going to the bin. The ear buds extremely fragile and brake very easily. The first pair made it to 4 months and then the left earbud stopped working. The second pair held it for 3 months then the right bud just fell off!

Like many of you, I have struggled to find sport earbuds that do what they are supposed to do. I have purchased several different ones and have always been disappointed: they sound lousy, or they won't stay in during exercise, or if they do stay in, they hurt your poor ear canals.

These are fantastic! Three different, and easily interchangeable, sizes guarantee a snug and comfortable fit for anyone. They stay in securely during running or cycling, and they do NOT hurt your ears. As a bonus, they sound far more expensive than they are. I am a fanatical audiophile with a $5k stereo in my car. Truly, I was impressed by the expansive sound and decent bass frequencies.

If you need earbuds for excercise, trust me, these are the ones you want. And by the way, this is the first and only review I have ever posted on Amazon.

I normally never bother reviewing electronics, but I am amazed how much better the sound is from my ipod nano with these earphones than with the stock ipod earphones I had been using. They are a little weird to get used to--there is a smaller circle that fits very snugly into your ear and then the standard larger ear bug. But the sound is far superior. If you are a novice with earphones, I think you'll be very pleased.

Man, is it ever unfortunate that some users give 5 star reviews for a horrible sounding product. This doesn't help other purchasers on Amazon. How anyone could give these earbuds 5 stars is beyond me. My other great sounding earbuds couldn't hold up to the use at the gym and the cord ended up getting damaged. I purchased these for use at the gym, due in part to their metal construction, seemingly durable cord, etc...hoping that they'd sound pretty good and last longer. Referring to the two users that gave these 5 stars, I bought these hoping they'd sound acceptable. I should have listened to the 3 star reviewer who summarized it well: "The lows are a bit overwhelming and mushy, the highs tinny and the mid-range seems non-existent." I'll add to this in my technical terms and say they simply sound like crap. IMO, no bass, no midrange, mushy and tinny. Horrible. I've had many sets of headphones...no changing of the ear gels or break in will make these earbuds sound good. The cheap earphones that came with my HP laptop sound WAY better than these do. If only they'd stay in my ears when I'm running on the treadmill. These "INTENSE Sound" earbuds are mislabeled...the only thing that is INTENSE is realizing I just wasted my money. Not recommended. 2 stars for the seemingly durable/quality construction.

Pros - The fit is great and the noise reduction is great, not 100% but much better then many other ear buds I have used over the years. The buds are metal and the wire is nylon wrapped so I have no doubt that they are durable. They are very stylish and much more comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Cons - The packaging was undamaged, but whomever placed the ear buds into the packaging seems to have been bent on kinking the wires beyond straightening while shoving them in the plastic packaging. This fact may be why the sound quality is not what I expected, but since they play at all, I doubt this is the case. The lows are a bit overwhelming and mushy, the highs tinny and the mid-range seems non-existent. Details in music seems lost due to the booming lows and for a minute I thought these may not even allow output in stereo. I played MP3's ripped at 320 kbps through my Zune HD and switched between these earbuds, the included buds from Microsoft, and some premium HP buds that came with a studio edition laptop and by far the ear buds from HP sound the best. I have heard that some ear-buds need a "breaking in" period so I will update if I notice a change.

Nit-picky/unique situation - Since I have a Zune HD (save the Microsoft jokes please) I occasionally use the HD radio tuner. The Zune uses the wire from the headphones an as antenna and I think that maybe the nylon covering on these headphones prevent them from being a useful antenna unless I am touching it with bear skin. Not a deal breaker, just some extra information for people that may use the radio feature a lot.

Overall, I have to take some stars away right now because lets face it, the main use of earbuds or headphones is for the sound quality and I feel that these do not meet my expectations. The price isn't bad, but since they are in a price range that is a level or two above disposable, I expected a little better.

SOUND:

The levels on this pair of headphones is pretty good. The most noticable being the treble and bass. This may be something caused by the design and shape of the mold.

AIR HOLE DESIGN-

There is a hole in the back of the metal casing, i assume so that the air can come out. This is cool because my subwoofer on my home stereo system has this air hole. I haven't seen a pair of headphones with this design before.

METAL CASING-

These earbuds are metal. I know that for speakers, the casing matters a lot... I think wood and fiberglass are good, but I didn't know metal would be good. It also makes me thing that they are hard to break... which is kind of cool.

LOUDNESS- They could be louder, but I LIKE IT LOUD!!! Anyone other than me would prbably say their ears hurt if they put their ipod on full blast. Compared to some sennheiser and bose i have... these come under the mark... but I'd never put bose or sennheiser through what i do to these. For the price.. I'd say you are getting more per $ with these, but an expensive set is always nice for audio indulgence, especially if you are REALLY into music and want to hear it at its best quality.

Noise Isolation- not 100%, but maybe 80%. Great for focusing on a project or working out... haha or cutting the noise from an annoying roomate or co-worker.... or significant other, hahaha

THE FIT:

SILICON EAR GELS-

They give you 3 sets... I'm assuming SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE. They are black to match the earbuds, but I kind of wish they were clear silicon. The small ones fit the best for me because they go far in ear and cut down the outside noise(not noise cancelling). The small ones are also noticabley good for working out because they stay in my ear when i'm running. ALSO, plastic earbuds hurt the cartlidge in my ear... kind of like i layed on my ear the wrong way... i hate that, but these silicon gels are perfect.

Nylon Cord-

This is a good idea. I have to think these are made for someone who works out a lot because they nylon will resist sweat. It also seems like you can't tear the cord easily. For these, the cord starts pretty thick with nylon at the 3.5mm connector, and then when it breaks into 2 separate cords, the nylon is smaller. I wiosh the nylon was thick whent he cord breaks into two, but maybe thats just me wanting them to be mega durable. The cord is the right length. I can have my iPod in my pocket and the buds don't yank out of my ear like some cheapy philips ones i had.

Durability:

These are durable. Metal casing... nylon cord... and the audio jack is pretty strong. It's made of metal and plastic. worksmanship seems to be pretty good. My sweat has not caused these thing to malfunction yet, which is what happened to my ipod pair. I guess the sweat leaks into the electrical compponents and shorts them or something. The silicon ear gels are pretty strong. If they ever wear out i always have 2 other pairs. I wonder if they have a place to roder more silicons.

Appearance:

I guess these could be for guys or girls. They are black. I like how there is a theme of metal and black with the earbuds, audio jack, and nylon cord. It all goes together well.

SUMMARY:

This pair of headphones is great for someone looking to get a good price good sounding heaphones. I RECOMMEND FOR WORKING OUT!! You deinfinitely get your money's worth. This is a great pair of earbuds for everyday use, and it seems like the design will hold for a while. I'm going to be taking these with me to Brazil because if I lose them, they'll be easy to replace... and the sound quality will definitely keep me satisfied while away from my BOSE. The package says 3 year warranty.

The main reason that i like them is their quality. they sound realy good.

They fit perfectly in my ears and thats because of the size adjustment that they have so your ears wont feel tired if you have them on even for hours.

I bought this case when I cracked the glass on my Zune to prevent further damage. It does the job it was intended to do: protect the Zune. It is hard to get to the hold button, but if you have a pen handy, it does the trick. It comes with a clip and lanyard which are also useful. The only cons I can see are the hold issue and the fact that the case itself will scratch. But take it from someone who learned the hard way: The Zune glass will crack unless you hardly move it. A hard case is worth the investment.

This is a good case for a cheap price. The lock button is completely useless though unless you have something to move it with. The bottom of the front does flex if you press it because it's the weakest part of the case but for me it's fine.

-inexpensive

cons:

-very poorly constructed. This is flimsy plastic that flexes if you press it even slightly hard. It makes the zune look and feel cheap.

-button access. You can easily access the pad and front buttons, but if you want to lock the device, you'll need a pencil or something to reach the switch.

These two cons were killers for me. First the asthetic feel is diminished, and then the functionality is shot. I could live with it feeling flimsy and cheap, but I use the lock feature all the time. When I put my zune in my pocket, I want to be able to lock the buttons so it doesn't change songs on me just because I bump it the wrong way. This case makes that impossible.

If you want an inexpensive case that will protect it from scratches/dropping and aren't concerned with the feel of the device or the lock feature, I'd say go ahead and buy it. Otherwise I'd invest another 10 bucks and get something a little more functional.

This is a great product for the price.

Compare to Microsoft Zune 2nd Generation Crystal Clear Hard Case Fits Zune 2nd Generation 2G / Zune 4GB / Zune 8GB with Belt Clip and Screen Protector or Belkin Acrylic Case for Zune 4 GB, 8 GB (Clear). (Granted, these may be of better quality.)

Does what it's supposed to do: fits well and protects the Zune.

PROS:

-The hole on front is big enough to use the front buttons easily

-Case protects the screen (i.e. no need to purchase a separate screen protector)

-Belt clip can be used for running purposes.

-Great value for price (I mean, 5 bucks? Really??)

CONS:

-VERY hard reach the hold button. The hole for the hold button is not big enough. This would bother me big time and make me want to return it or get another one, but the person I got this for says she doesn't really use the hold button, so it doesn't matter to her.

For this matter, you might want to check out this one:Microsoft ZUNE 4GB 8GB Crystal Clear Hard Plastic Snap-On Carrying Case ...Plus FREE Neck Strap / Lanyard!!!. But there is no customer review for this and I haven't bought it either, so no promises.

This is a great case at a great price. The openings for the buttons are big enough so you don't need to push down with your thumbnail to make them click. There is also enough space around the touch pad so you can go all the way to the edges. Highly recommend this case. I tried another case which had 3 seperate holes for the buttons and touch pad and there wasn't enough space to easily use the controls. Not a problem with this case.

I got this case six months ago and it's still as solid as ever. It's custom fitted to the Zune 120gb. It easily protected my zune from a 4 foot drop. The case looks great and has somewhat of a slippery feel to it. You should hold it with both hands to be safe. It makes your zune feel heavy due to the metal case. It can easily fit into a shirt(should be avoided) or pants pocket. It's a great bargain for protecting your zune. I just hope they come out with one for the new zune hd.

I had this case for just over a year before dropping it screwed up the way that it closed so that it takes the smallest tap for it to pop open. But before that happened this was the best case I've ever owned. I am really abusive to all of my electronics and this thing probably saved my zune a bunch of times. I don't think any case can really protect a player completely, but this one does a pretty good job, especially at protecting the screen. I am getting one for my second zune. It does affect the image quality somewhat, but who really watches video on a screen that size anyway, and you can open the case. So for me this is only an issue when trying to find a song in glare (and I'm not sure that's all the cases's fault). For a really defensive case, check out aquapac.

I think it really is metal, not plastic, but with some kind a softening coating.

Nice product. I was so confused as to what to buy. I looked everywhere and nothing really seemed to be what I wanted. I finally found this one and said, "for the price, I'll try it out." Shipping was outrageous - be warned - just $2.95 less than the cost of the case! But it fits nice and snug without being too tight, I can get at all the controls, it's got a great belt clip and a lanyard as well (both features I wanted and didn't realize it had) but the screen got scratched almost right away. I did drop it once and even though the door popped open (hmmm...the latch could be better I guess) the player was totally undamaged. I'm pretty happy with it all in all. I'd recommend it but be warned you will probably have to replace it sooner than later depending on how much more scratched the screen gets.

This case is pretty decent for the price, but it has a few drawbacks. First, it makes the Zune much bulkier. Second,m the front of it scratches so easily. The first or second day I had it I wrapped my earbuds around it and my earbuds scratched up the front of the case. Also, since it's not completely closed off, a lot of pocket lint and dirt gets into the case.

"Better Than I Expected!" 2008-05-27

After reading a lot of negative reviews about this Zune Case I was very hesitant to buy it but I absolutely LOVED the look of this case as opposed to a lot of other Zune cases out there. When I received it, I quickly put my Zune inside the case and BAM! It looked and worked great!

The buttons lined up perfectly (as opposed to a lot of other people's experiences) and you can definitely tell that this case is made with quality materials. I also love the fact that this case keeps my Zune scratch free and the "kickstand", which works like a charm, is a must have for anyone that loves to watch videos on their Zune.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the plastic screen on the case is a little "sensitive" with some scuff marks on it and it does get fingerprints on it easily too.

I would recommend this to anyone that wants a sylish yet useful Zune case.

I haven't tried this product. I'm cheating. But I need some help.

My husband has a 30 gig Zune and absolutely loves it. The only problem is that he lost the microfiber sleeve that it came with, and I can't find another one anywhere!!!

Is there anyone out there that would be willing to sell theirs if they aren't using it anymore? It was the perfect size to slide in your pocket when not in use and nothing else is quite the same...

I apologize for misusing this review feature, but I need some help from fellow Zune-ers...

"Very good for video watchers." 2008-01-11

The Belkin Folio is almost perfect for me since it is designed with video folks in mind. I mostly watch videos on my Zune so landscape viewing and keeping the screen free of scratches is vital. When I'm watching a video I put the Zune on its side and adjust the tilt for glare reduction. When I'm not watching a video I turn off and lock the Zune, fold up the case, wrap my ear bud wires around it, and toss it all into my jacket pocket. The Folio displays the Zune in a landscape position and allows for full glare adjustment. The Folio protects the screen from scratches as well as from getting "point crushed" by the ear buds or anything else in my pocket like my keys.

On the other hand, the Folio's velvet lining does shed a bit of fuzz that works its way between the Zune and Folio screens where it's hard to clean. Tonight I'm going to remove the Folio's clear screen which I think is not needed. Without it, the case will still be a great pocket protector while the film I put on the Zune will still protect the screen from easier, more frequent, fuzz and fingerprint cleanings.

I like the folding case style and am glad to not worry about breaking some plastic hinged kick stand.

All the buttons work easily and line with the case just fine. I don't poke the buttons with my forefinger though. I put my fingers behind the Zune with my thumb on whatever button and squeeze. I do that without a case too due to the size of the Zune buttons. It's easy.

All the charging and earplug ports are readily accessible. You can close the case up and charge.

This case is clearly designed for video and not music since there is no secure way to stand the Zune upright and when it's folded up there's no way to get to the buttons. So, music folks will cry. On the other hand, they have a zillion cases to choose from while us Zune video watchers have slim pickins. Very few cases have a landscape kickstand and absolutely no docking stations have a landscape mode.

Some folks will say this case makes the Zune way too large... but for my money it's far, far smaller than hauling around a portable DVD player. I don't think there's a portable DVD player out there that you can easily fit onto a jacket pocket.

Something I'd love to see with all the cases is a way to wrap up your ear bud wires and attach the case or holder or whatever to bigger case. I want to set down my Zune, pop open the case for viewing and then unwind only as much ear bud wire as I need. And when done, I want to quick wind up my wire, tuck away the ear buds, fold the case, and toss it all into my pocket.

Anyways, for video folks, the Belkin Folio is almost perfect. I love mine. I even love the classy brown leather look of it.

I was looking for a case to protect my Zune player and this was perfect, well almost perfect. This would have been the perfect case if it had a belt clip. Maybe they will catch it on the next design.

I have a car charger that requires me to take it out of the case. Sliding it in and out has caused some scratches on the screen. So far I haven't scratched it on the button that is just outside where it slides out but someday I'm sure I'll slip up. The buttons are very hard to use when in the case. I'm use to it now but I often hit the select button when I'm trying to hit one of the buttons on the directional pad. I do use the kickstand occasionally but the zune will stand on its side without the need of a kickstand so I'm really not sure how much I need that feature.. especially since this feature requires the case be so thick. It doesn't fit in my pocket with it on. I would give it a 1 but it's not totally useless. I will be buying something else to replace it eventually (once there is something available out there. And I'll need to buy something to polish the scratches. Overall it was a waste of money.

I do like that I can stick this in my bag and not worry about it getting damaged. Also I agree with the reviewer about it not having any logos on the outside. It looks very nice. The cons above outweigh the pros though.

If you want to keep your zune plugged into this thing while playing music, you will hear a buzzing noise. Not a big deal to me because I don't keep the zune plugged to this while i'm listening to music. Why? Read on.

Cord is too short. If your power source is far away from where you keep your zune in the car this is a problem. My power source is just to the right of the console, and the cord is not long enough to reach a mount that I want to use next to my steering wheel. Workaround is to not listen to the zune while it's charging. Not a huge deal because it charges quickly, but annoying.

Bottom line: Kind of sucks, but it charges fast and doesn't brake your Zune. If that's all you care about, buy this.

I didn't think a product such as this would be capable of disappointing me. It's a simple device, charges Zune devices using your car. However, when I plugged it into my 4GB Zune, I noticed a humming/beeping noise in the background of my music, when I played it through the AUX cord of my Toyota Yaris. I thought it might be my 4GB Zune, so I tried my 30GB Zune. I ran into the same problem. Although it does charge, the background noise makes it a tad annoying to listen to my music while charging it.

In the end, I purchased an Zune Car Pack v2, and was happy with my purchase.

What can I say? This charger works perfectly with my 120GB Zune...and it only cost $3. I've spent 10 times that much for chargers that don't work from places like Best Buy. When I bought this charger, I fully expected it to not work (or break after a few uses)...but this charger hasn't let me down. It is built tough, has an LED that indicates when it is working, and it only cost $3!! (I said that already didn't I)

This case is awesome, the color is so vibrant, the case actually stays on unlike some others and I love it. I didn't have problem like some other reviewers have said they had to cut out some little ridge under the buttons? I use my Zune almost every day, sometimes outside while I am working. I got this cover to protect it from dirt and scratches. It fits well (any closer and I would never be able to get it on or off), and I have no problem working the buttons through the skin. In fact, I am surprised how well it works: I can still dial up the volume by sliding my finger up over the central control button, even with the skin on. I doesn't affect the feel of the controls at all. Very nice!

After I put it on I realized I had to buy a screen protector separately, but that's the only negative I have with it. I should have read the description more carefully and ordered a screen protector at the same time.

I purchased this warranty for a used Archos 605 MP3/MP4 player. I figured that since I was purchasing this item "used", it might be worth the extra money for a warranty. As it turns out, it definitely was well worth it. Several months after my purchase, I noticed that the battery in my player was not holding a charge like it should. I contaced Squaretrade on-line, filed my claim, and within 2 days, received an email with a return shipping label (FREE!!). They decided to refund 100% of my money as soon as I returned the defective item. Within about 1 week of filing the original claim, Squaretrade refunded 100% of the cost of my Archos player to me via paypal. I would highly recommend purchasing an extended warranty for your electronics equipment with Squaretrade. When I replace my Archos, I will get another warranty for it. The other thing about going through Squaretrade--it is easy and uncomplicated to purchase a warranty from them, and just as easy to file a claim if you have a problem!

Everything works as advertised and no problem with install etc etc. (I upgraded the AV cable to a better and longer one, for my install) you still have to go into settings on your Zune device and change to "TV out"...here is where it gets not so good.

if you are driving along and stop for a minute and turn off your car, it will revert back and turn off your "TV out" you now have to go back to the device, I kinda wish it found a way around this, after all the kit plugs into the device using a Zune type Sync cable.

You can see from the Video that I had the guys install the unit under the centre console

..i feel like its not entirely nessisary to purchase. the product only works if you have an AUX cable and basically what the product does charge the zune while it plays and it disables the volume on the zune so all the volume is controlled on the car radio. i mean you can prob just buy a zune car charger for really cheap (looking at amazon.com, most of the chargers brand new are like $3) and buy an AUX cable on ebay or something, if you dont already have one, for like $3. a total purchase of $6.

however, i think it is nice that it disables the volume control on the zune because i cannot stand trying to find the perfect volume on the zune and on the car radio. so with this product, because data is being transfered through the bottom and not through a simple AUX cable, the sound quality is alot better. it sure is a lot better than that cassette cable thing. sound quality could be really important especially, if like me, you have a newer speaker system in your car with a subwoofer or if you just simply prefer the better sound quality.

overall, if you have the extra money lying around and you want the beter sound quality, go for it. it sounds perfect in the car and you dont need to fiddle with the volume on the zune, which is great.

if money may be an issue, and if you already have an aux port on your car, i wouldnt get this. id buy a zune charger and keep the AUX cord.

I got this and it just make it so you can control the volume from the HU, but I can still do exactly that just setup the HU right and zune volume right and you will never have to change volume except for the HU. I got a Sony X-plod cdx-gt 130 which for AUX-IN has setting for up to +18 which is like a volume. I got it at +14 and zune at volume 10, half way on zune and I never touch the zune again unless for change songs or music only. It also sounds just as good as this product. I sent it back. The benefit of getting a HU with AUX-IN is more features and options without the clutter of cables or wires to worry about getting twisted, pinched or cut while using it. AUX-IN you are only using one cable from head unit to device. There is also at Best Buy a car charger for $19.99. Its your prerogative of how you want it.

Everything works fine but the Audio/Video cable that runs from the back of your stereo is way to short. Although my Zune now runs directly to my receiver it is somewhat hard to reach because the cable is so short. Wish it was a bit longer.

Nice little case. As others have said, the material quality is very good, and the fit is nice and tight. The only quibble I have is that you have to remove the player from the case if you want to dock it...not a major problem by any means, but one you should be aware of. I also have the incipio dermashot case and after having my player in this flip case for a day, returned it to the incipio...it's just smaller and easier to pocket in that one.

I had no idea what to expect having never purchased an item like this before, but it turned out to fit the bill perfectly. It looks great, fits the HD perfectly, and it's easy to remove the device whenever you want to--I'm not a fan of those rubbery plasticky skins that are always on the device and obscure the beautiful design.

The belt clip is a really great feature of this case. First of all, the one on mine is very tight, so I know it's going to stay put. I like the added security of knowing I can actually secure it *to* something rather than having it just floating in some bag or pocket where it can easily fall out. Even when it's in my pocket I still clip it in there for peace of mind.

But attaching it to my waistband really works great. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I can still use the Zune without removing it from my hip--the screen is just that good that I can still see it perfectly even when viewing from almost directly above. This solves one of the problems I had with this type of touch device, which is that you usually need both hands to fully operate it. Now with it clipped to my waist in the folio I can easily operate it with just one hand.

The other thing I like is the slim, subtle form factor, which makes it very easy to conceal when it's on your waistband. It can easily be covered with a sweater or jacket if you don't want to advertise that you have a $300 device attached to your hip.

I feel very confident that it will protect the Zune in most any normal circumstance. The front flap is well padded and protects the screen when not in use by snapping closed with a magnetic closure. An additional screen protector is probably not needed when it's in the case, but I got one anyway, just as an extra precaution and also because I often take it out of the case when I'm at home and I would be horrified if anything should mar that gorgeous screen.

One final minor observation is that the hidden pocket is really too small to be of much use, plus I wouldn't be comfortable putting something like a credit card in there in case it should rub against and eventually scratch the screen. It's probably okay for a little cash, or some other important little slip of paper, though.

Overall, I highly recommend this to any Zune HD owner. Enjoy.

Excellent case, it's ridiculously soft, fits the Zune nice and snug, and that extra pocket is nice for sticking some bills in. I no longer worry about damaging my Zune if it ever drops, this case is very protective.

The case is a snug fit for the Zune, though it does seem a little thin. It seems to be able to protect from dings, scrapes, and scratches, but I don't think it would protect much if dropped. The skin is not very bulky, making it a stylish and functional case without becoming obtrusive. The screen cover included is a hard sheet of plastic that fits on top of the screen under the case. The product description was misleading, at least for me, making it seem to me like it would be a protective film included, not a hard plastic screen. I can't say that I'm disappointed, since I actually prefer the hard screen to the type that sticks to the screen and merely protects from scratches, not bumping into things. Delivery was faster than I expected, about 3 business days after ordering. If you're looking for a stylish, slim, protective case for your 30 GB Zune, I would recommend this product.
